Summary: The role of C# / WPF / WCF / Winform Developer at a global bank based in Canary Wharf involves developing and supporting applications using C# and various frameworks. The position requires collaboration with business stakeholders to understand requirements, design application structures, and perform data analysis. The developer will also troubleshoot existing systems and ensure adherence to programming policies. This is a remote position with a duration of 6 months, likely to be extended.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand business requirements and design application structures.
- Program WPF applications in Visual C#.NET on Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Test applications with users and implement through various environments including QA and Production.
- Support users and write operational documents including user manuals.
- Develop and support existing WinForms applications and other languages like MS VBA.
- Define database objects and liaise with SQL and Oracle Database Administrators.
- Provide scripts for T-SQL and PL/SQL for data analysis.
- Set up system distribution methods for Citrix and application servers.
- Troubleshoot systems and implement solutions for failures.
- Follow team programming policies and update versions of MS .Net Framework.
- Liaise with support teams regarding system problems experienced by business users.
- Assess data processing loads on databases and find alternative approaches when necessary.
- Coordinate with the Release manager to roll out changes and maintain change history.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in C#, WPF, WCF, and WinForms.
- Experience with SQL and Oracle databases.
- Knowledge of T-SQL and PL/SQL for data analysis.
- Familiarity with MS VBA, MS VB, and Excel Macros.
- Ability to troubleshoot Windows Operating Systems and Internet Information Server.
- Strong understanding of application development and support processes.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with various teams.
- Experience in writing operational documentation and user manuals.
