Role Summary
The Business Transformation Project Manager manages the full portfolio of projects run out of the Transformation Office — spanning portfolio governance, enterprise operating model, change and culture, data and analytics, workforce and people, communications, and benefits and ROI, not a single workstream. Working under the Business Transformation Lead and alongside the Senior Business Analyst, Change Manager, and workstream owners, this role plans and drives every business-side initiative that ensures the new platform is matched by new operating processes, prepared stakeholders, and a workforce ready to adopt it — with the same rigor, governance, and reporting discipline applied consistently across the whole Transformation Office. It is distinct from technology delivery program management: the focus here is on business transformation outcomes — process redesign, data readiness, change adoption, and benefits realization — coordinated closely with the delivery teams but owned on behalf of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the Transformation Office project portfolio — business-change, process-redesign, and adoption initiatives — with clear scope, timelines, milestones, and owners.
- Coordinate business-readiness activities to the delivery roadmap, so process changes, training, and operational cutover align with each platform milestone and site/therapy rollout.
- Track and report progress on business-transformation workstreams — plans, dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions — to the Business Transformation Lead and Transformation Office.
- Manage cross-team dependencies across every Transformation Office workstream — and with the technology delivery teams — ensuring hand-offs and readiness gates are met on all sides, not just between business and technology.
- Drive documentation of current- and future-state workflows in partnership with the Senior Business Analyst and workstream owners across data, workforce, and communications, translating operating-model, data, and change initiatives into actionable project plans.
- Own the milestone-gate project plan for operating-model and regulatory workstreams — workflow redesign, SOP rewrites, and REMS/regulatory validation — coordinating closely with the Senior Business Analyst and Compliance to keep every gate on schedule.
Change, Stakeholders & Adoption
- Support the change-management plan in partnership with the Change Manager — stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and transition planning across affected teams.
- Facilitate stakeholder alignment across business functions, keeping sponsors and operational leaders informed, engaged, and prepared for change.
- Manage business-side risks and issues to resolution, escalating where readiness or adoption could be at risk, and protecting operational continuity throughout the transition.
- Track adoption and readiness outcomes, ensuring the business realizes the value the new platform and operating model are intended to deliver.
- Track UAT and data-quality validation across workstreams, coordinating multi-cycle test execution, defect triage, and business sign-off across the full portfolio — not only platform-facing features.
- Manage the benefits-realization and ROI reporting cadence, ensuring KPI baselines, dashboards, and milestone benefits reports are delivered on schedule across the program.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years in project management with a strong emphasis on business transformation, process change, and operational adoption — not purely IT/technical delivery.
- Proven track record managing business-change and transformation projects within large, multi-workstream programs, ideally as part of a Transformation Office or PMO.
- Experience managing multi-workstream transformation portfolios spanning process/workflow redesign, data migration and governance, training and workforce readiness, and benefits realization tracking — not just a single functional track.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with the ability to work across business functions and align operational leaders around change.
- Solid grounding in change management and business readiness — communications, training, transition, and adoption — working alongside dedicated change and business-analysis roles.
- Excellent planning, tracking, and reporting discipline, with confident governance and status communication to senior stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating business workstreams with technology delivery teams in an Agile/milestone-based delivery environment.
- Comfortable operating in a contract capacity and integrating quickly into an established client Transformation Office and delivery organization.
Preferred / Advantageous
- Experience in specialty pharmacy, rare disease, or other regulated healthcare (HIPAA, REMS, accreditation) environments.
- Exposure to platform-modernization or data/AI transformation programs and the operating-model change they drive.
- Recognized project management and preferably change credentials (e.g., PMP, Prosci / change-management certification, or equivalent).
What Success Looks Like
- Business-transformation workstreams delivered on plan and in step with each platform milestone — no readiness gaps at cutover.
- Stakeholders across the business informed, aligned, and prepared, with change adopted rather than resisted.
- Clean coordination between business change and technology delivery, with dependencies and risks surfaced early.
- Transparent, decision-ready reporting that the Business Transformation Lead and Transformation Office rely on.
