Summary: A highly experienced SME/Business Analyst is sought to support the validation of a pricing calculator within a financial services platform. The role involves defining validation requirements, expected outcomes, and assurance frameworks to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards. The position is primarily remote with occasional travel to South Wales and requires strong analytical and stakeholder management skills. The contract is set to begin in July 2026 for an initial duration of three months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of business, functional, and regulatory requirements for the independent validation of an in-house pricing calculator.
- Define the validation approach, scope, assumptions, and acceptance criteria.
- Define expected calculation behaviours across finance products such as loans, hire purchase, and leasing solutions.
- Review pricing components including payment calculations, interest rates, APR/IRR, net advance, fees and commissions, subsidies, balloon/residual values, and settlement calculations.
- Interpret applicable regulatory obligations and industry standards to ensure compliance.
- Identify core business scenarios, edge cases, and boundary conditions for testing.
- Establish benchmark calculations and expected results, including calculation rules and tolerances.
- Collaborate with business, testing, and technical teams to clarify assumptions and validate calculations.
- Produce clear and auditable requirements, calculation rules, and traceability documentation.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience within asset finance, lending, banking, or regulated financial services environments.
- Deep understanding of pricing calculators and financial calculations, including APR/IRR, amortisation, cashflow modelling, and interest calculations.
- Experience defining business, functional, and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of regulated financial environments and compliance-driven validation activities.
