Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support Assurant's Customer 360 platform, being developed on the Databricks platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance, data analytics, SQL, and customer data transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, and process flows for Customer 360 initiatives.
- Work closely with Data Engineering and Technology teams on Databricks-based data solutions and customer data integration requirements.
- Analyze change requests and assess business, data, and system impacts.
- Perform complex SQL-based data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct root cause analysis and resolve data quality, mapping, and process-related issues.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, insurance carriers, lenders, and servicing teams to support customer and policy data initiatives.
- Support Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT, and release validation.
- Create and maintain business documentation, process flows, release notes, and functional specifications.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of Business Analyst experience.
- Strong expertise in SQL, data analysis, and data validation.
- Experience working on Customer 360, Customer Data Platform (CDP), Master Data Management (MDM), or enterprise data initiatives.
- Deep understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance.
- Experience with Lender-Placed Insurance, Insurance Tracking, Mortgage Servicing, or Policy Administration Systems.
- Strong understanding of data mapping, data lineage, and system integrations.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Databricks, Data Lakehouse architecture, data warehousing, and cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of APIs, ETL processes, and customer data integration frameworks.
- Understanding of US insurance regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
