Summary: The role of Business Analyst focuses on supporting the housing sector by ensuring compliance with Awaab’s Law and aligning business requirements with emerging legislation. The position requires gathering and analyzing business needs, producing documentation, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the housing sector and experience in compliance and safety data. This is a remote position for a contract duration of 6 months, classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the gathering, analysis, and documentation of business requirements across housing-related functions
- Translate legislative and regulatory requirements—particularly relating to Awaab’s Law—into clear operational and process recommendations
- Produce high-quality documentation including business requirement documents (BRDs), process maps, user stories, and functional specifications
- Work closely with stakeholders across housing services, compliance, repairs, IT, and senior leadership to ensure a shared understanding of needs
- Support the creation and maintenance of the Golden Thread for housing safety and compliance
- Contribute to solution design discussions, ensuring that system changes and business processes align with legal and organisational standards
- Communicate complex information clearly and confidently to stakeholders at all levels
Key Skills:
- Proven Business Analyst experience within the housing sector
- Strong understanding of Awaab’s Law and associated damp and mould responsibilities (or strong compliance background with ability to quickly learn specifics)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience producing professional, structured documentation
- Experience working with compliance and safety data (Golden Thread experience highly desirable)
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-mapping skills
