Summary: The role involves implementing the BMC Helix AIOps suite in a greenfield deployment alongside an existing monitoring platform. The candidate will work closely with internal engineers to achieve functional parity and advance capabilities in a complex enterprise environment. A hands-on approach is required for configuration, integrations, and optimization, while also guiding architecture and best practices. The position demands real-time collaboration during US hours to accelerate delivery amidst vendor support challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement BMC Helix AIOps suite alongside existing monitoring platform.
- Achieve 1:1 functional parity in event ingestion, alerting, and monitoring.
- Advance capabilities such as service modeling, event correlation, and AI/ML-driven operations.
- Work closely with internal engineers in real-time to accelerate delivery.
- Hands-on configuration, integrations, and optimization of the system.
- Guide architecture and best practices in a complex enterprise environment.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with BMC Helix AIOps, BMC Helix Operations Management, and BMC Helix ITSM.
- Experience in greenfield or parallel deployment.
- Event ingestion, normalization, correlation, and noise reduction expertise.
- CMDB integration and service modeling/topology experience.
- Integration experience with monitoring and infrastructure tools such as SCOM, SCCM, Rapid7, and CrowdStrike.
- Familiarity with Citrix/virtualized environments, Windows Server, SQL Server, and Exchange.
- Understanding of event correlation, alert noise reduction, and REST APIs/tool integrations.

My direct client is currently implementing the BMC Helix AIOps suite in a greenfield parallel deployment alongside their existing monitoring platform (ScienceLogic Ionix).
The immediate goal is to achieve 1:1 functional parity (event ingestion, alerting, monitoring) and then move into advanced capabilities like service modeling, event correlation, and AI/ML-driven operations. The client is dissatisfied with current vendor support (BMC PS) due to delays and suboptimal architectural decisions and is looking for a hands-on SME ( player-coach ) who can work closely with their internal engineer in real-time (US hours) to accelerate delivery.
The environment is enterprise-scale and complex: 4 global data centers, Citrix-based virtualized setup, heavy Windows/SQL/Exchange footprint, and multiple integrations required across monitoring and security tools. This role is not advisory-only the candidate must be hands-on with configuration, integrations, and optimization while guiding architecture and best practices.
Key Skills & Experience Required
Primary (Must-Have):
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- BMC Helix AIOps
- BMC Helix Operations Management
- BMC Helix ITSM
- (Nice: BMC True Sight)
- Experience in greenfield or parallel deployment
- Event ingestion, normalization, correlation, and noise reduction
- CMDB integration and service modeling/topology
Integration / Environment Keywords (Important for Search)
Priority is for the candidates with integration experience across:
