Summary: The Black Belt Process Improvement Consultant will focus on analyzing and transforming business processes using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and quality. This role requires independent work and the ability to influence multiple teams while leading process improvement initiatives from assessment to implementation. The consultant will be responsible for various tasks including process mapping, value stream analysis, and training employees on new processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Document current-state business processes using process maps and workflow diagrams.
  • Analyze both upstream and downstream processes, including teams that may not directly report to the organization.
  • Identify bottlenecks, delays, handoff issues, redundancies, and waste.
  • Develop future-state process maps and conduct gap analyses.
  • Create value stream maps showing process demand, cycle times, wait times, bottlenecks, and quality issues.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce turnaround time (TAT) and improve efficiency across the entire value stream.
  • Define and implement operational KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Establish dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
  • Monitor process performance and identify trends or recurring issues.
  • Use data to support decision-making and improvement recommendations.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis sessions using methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, and FMEA.
  • Investigate process failures and quality issues.
  • Develop corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Lead improvement initiatives and ensure solutions are executed successfully.
  • Coordinate with business, operations, technology, and external stakeholders.

Overview

This role is focused on analyzing, improving, and transforming business processes across the organization. The consultant will use Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify inefficiencies, reduce turnaround times (TAT), improve quality, and drive operational excellence.
