Summary: The role of BI Developer focuses on leveraging Power BI, DAX, and data modelling skills to enhance operational reporting for a leading Financial Services business. The position requires the design and development of data models, reports, and dashboards, while ensuring data quality and resolving issues. This is a fully remote position for an initial duration of 5 months, with a competitive daily rate. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in BI development and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build dimensional data models (star schemas) within Power BI
- Develop and maintain:
- Power BI dataflows
- Semantic models (datasets)
- Reports and dashboards
- Create robust DAX measures and calculations to support complex reporting requirements
- Deliver operational reporting across:
- Platform data
- Contact centre activity
- Complaints, feedback, QA, and incident data
- Investigate and resolve data issues using SQL, identifying root causes across source systems
- Build Excel-based reporting connected to Power BI semantic models, as required by the client
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a BI Developer/Power BI Developer
- Strong experience in dimensional modelling (star schema design)
- Advanced Power BI & DAX skills (measures, time intelligence, performance optimisation)
- Hands-on experience building semantic models without a formal data warehouse layer
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience working with operational data (eg transactional, service, or event-based systems)
- Solid understanding of data quality, validation, and reconciliation processes
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders and translate requirements into scalable models
Salary (Rate): £440 daily

Leading Financial Services business is looking to bring in an experienced BI Developer with strong data modelling and DAX expertise to support the Business Intelligence & Insights team in delivering robust operational reporting.
