Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Backend Engineer with expertise in cloud-native microservices and financial services, particularly in lending and loans. The candidate should thrive in fast-paced environments and be adept at handling complex payment workflows and data-intensive systems. This role is remote and focuses on developing scalable distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development and a deep understanding of financial transaction systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices for large-scale cloud applications
- Work on payment, lending, servicing, and financial workflow systems
- Build and integrate APIs (REST & GraphQL) across distributed systems
- Develop and optimize data pipelines and database interactions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile tools and practices
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance in AWS environments
Key Skills:
- 5–7+ years of experience in financial services domain (Loans, lending, servicing, insurance, or collections)
- Strong understanding of payment workflows, delinquency management, and financial transaction systems
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience with microservices architecture
- API development and integration experience
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, EC2, VPC, CloudFront, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch)
- Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, and cloud-based microservices architecture experience
- MuleSoft (API integration, orchestration, data transformation) and ActiveMQ or similar messaging systems
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake, and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB or equivalent)
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum environments
- 3–5+ years of Angular experience (good to have)
- HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge (good to have)
- Responsive design and UI/UX understanding (good to have)
- API integration using REST/JSON/HTTP (good to have)
- AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certifications (preferred)
