Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Backend Engineer with expertise in cloud-native microservices and financial services, particularly in lending and loans. The candidate should thrive in fast-paced environments and be adept at handling complex payment workflows and data-intensive systems. This role is remote and focuses on developing scalable distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development and a deep understanding of financial transaction systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices for large-scale cloud applications
  • Work on payment, lending, servicing, and financial workflow systems
  • Build and integrate APIs (REST & GraphQL) across distributed systems
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines and database interactions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile tools and practices
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance in AWS environments

Key Skills:

  • 5–7+ years of experience in financial services domain (Loans, lending, servicing, insurance, or collections)
  • Strong understanding of payment workflows, delinquency management, and financial transaction systems
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • API development and integration experience
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, EC2, VPC, CloudFront, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch)
  • Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, and cloud-based microservices architecture experience
  • MuleSoft (API integration, orchestration, data transformation) and ActiveMQ or similar messaging systems
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake, and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum environments
  • 3–5+ years of Angular experience (good to have)
  • HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge (good to have)
  • Responsive design and UI/UX understanding (good to have)
  • API integration using REST/JSON/HTTP (good to have)
  • AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certifications (preferred)
