Summary: The Senior Backend Commerce Engineer will design, build, and support scalable commerce solutions utilizing Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Spring Boot, and Google Cloud Platform. This role is responsible for delivering notification events, product and order feed integrations, and payment enhancements. The engineer will also lead technical discovery for customer engagement initiatives and ensure production reliability. Collaboration with product and platform teams is essential for improving delivery predictability and customer impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop backend solutions for ecommerce workflows across SFCC and microservices.
  • Build and maintain event-driven notification pipelines for order, return, and account journeys.
  • Deliver and optimize product/catalog feed and order feed integrations.
  • Implement payment enhancements, including payment type support like Apple Pay, Google Pay.
  • Lead technical discovery and feasibility assessments for Emarsys, TurnTo, and ClientTale initiatives.
  • Define and govern API/event contracts, data mappings, and integration standards across systems.
  • Partner with product and platform teams to improve delivery predictability, release quality, and customer impact.
  • Support production reliability through monitoring, issue triage, and continuous improvement.

Key Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience in Salesforce Commerce Cloud backend development.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Java with Spring Boot for backend/microservice development.
  • Practical experience with API integrations, event-driven architecture, and business-rule implementation.
