Summary: Our client is looking for an Azure SQL Architect for a freelance B2B contract lasting 6 months, with the possibility of extensions. The role is remote but requires the candidate to be based in Germany. Proficiency in both English and German is necessary for this position. The architect will focus on Azure SQL Database and related technologies to design and optimize data architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deep expertise in Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server architecture and deployment models
- Strong skills in database design, performance tuning, and query optimisation
- Proficiency with data security, compliance, backup/restore strategies, and high availability/disaster recovery in Azure
- Experience with migration planning and execution for on-prem SQL workloads to Azure (DMA, DMS, Azure Migrate)
- Ability to design scalable, cost-optimised, and resilient data architectures using Azure services (Azure Storage, Synapse, Key Vault, networking)
