Summary: The role of Azure DevOps Engineer involves working with a Managed Service Provider to deliver critical features and enhancements in a modern engineering environment. The position requires hands-on experience with Azure technologies, including Terraform and Azure DevOps, to design and optimize cloud infrastructure. This is a fully remote contract position lasting 3-6 months, classified as outside IR35. The engineer will be a key member of the platform team, focusing on improving the Azure-native environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and provision Azure infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (YAML). This will include blue-green and canary deployments
- Operate, scale, and optimize AKS clusters running production workloads
- Manage networking, identity, secrets, and configuration in Azure
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support scalable, cloud-native applications
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments
- Strong experience with Terraform
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles
- Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub
- Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes (AKS preferred)
- Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools

Robert Walters have partnered a MSP client who need an experienced Contract Azure DevOps Engineer to help deliver new features and enhancements within a time-critical product roadmap. You'll be joining a modern engineering function and will be hands on with Azure, Terraform, AKS and Azure DevOps
Azure DevOps Engineer will be a key member of the platform team, you'll design, run, and continuously improve the modern Azure-native environment.
