On behalf of DEFRA, we are looking for an Azure Data Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 2 Month Remote contract.
About The Role:
This role is to support the delivery of the Finance Service Offer Programme and more specifically the Finance Service Offer Change Project. Finance does not currently have a clear Finance Blueprint or Operating Model, leading to disparity between what Finance delivers and what our partners value and need. There is a lack of clarity on team's roles, responsibilities and priorities, causing blurred lines of governance and causing processes and approvals to be delivered inefficiently and ineffectively. This programme aims to address these issues and to develop a clearly defined Finance Service Offer (FSO). This will be achieved through developing a structured and strategic Finance Operating Model that aligns with organisational priorities and Government Functional Standards (GovS006).
The FSO Change Project is the first step for this as it is focused on transforming financial planning and ownership by simplifying systems, clarifying responsibilities, and enabling smarter, faster decision-making across Defra Group (Core, EA, RPA, NE & APHA) to prepare for Synergy (consolidation of HR, Finance and Procure to Pay Services in alignment with other government departments) and beyond.
This role will develop and construct data products and services and integrate them into systems and business processes. More specifically, the role will work closely with our Digital and Data specialists to build a new Microsoft-based tool that supports our forecasting cycle. In addition, the role will collaborate with Human Resources (HR) to deliver a workforce-planning component that meets the needs of both departments and its users, bringing workforce planning, compliance, and reporting together in one place.
