Summary: The role of Senior Azure Data Developer involves designing and delivering enterprise-grade data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies for a leading automotive organization. This hands-on contract position focuses on building scalable data pipelines and ensuring data quality, governance, and security. The developer will also mentor junior team members and engage with stakeholders to gather requirements. The position is remote with a preference for monthly trips to Reading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure
- Work closely with architects on data modelling and cloud storage solutions
- Implement CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps for automated deployment
- Apply best practices in coding, version control, and secure data handling
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot pipeline issues
- Mentor junior team members and promote engineering best practices
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, etc.)
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and API-based data integrations
- Deep understanding of cloud data architecture and security
- Hands-on with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code
- Familiarity with data governance, monitoring tools, and performance tuning
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
