Summary: The Azure Data Business Analyst will support the go-live of a new Azure data platform for a government client, focusing on data requirements, quality, and delivery across analytics and reporting. This role involves documenting data needs, managing backlogs, ensuring data governance, and validating testing processes. The position is fully remote and initially contracted for six months. The role is classified as outside IR35, allowing for flexible working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document detailed data requirements from business use cases, covering reporting, analytics, modelling, and downstream consumption.
  • Define clear acceptance criteria to ensure accurate and testable delivery.
  • Create and maintain epics and features to support a single, coherent programme backlog.
  • Produce BDD scenarios consumable by Architecture, Development, and Testing teams to reduce ambiguity and rework.
  • Identify and log data quality issues, including root cause analysis, business impact, severity, and recommended remediation.
  • Support governance activities and maintain documentation within Azure DevOps.
  • Support definition of test scenarios and coverage aligned to user stories.
  • Assist with ETL and Power BI testing, validating data against Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs).
  • Contribute to user testing activities, from UX prototype reviews to incremental functionality releases.

Key Skills:

  • Strong background as a Data Business Analyst within Azure environments.
  • Experience working on large-scale data or analytics programmes.
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps, BDD, and backlog management.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and BI/reporting workflows.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Architecture, Engineering, and Testing.

Government client is seeking an experienced Azure Data Business Analyst to help go-live of a new Azure data platform that sits between government and industry. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping data requirements, improving data quality, and enabling high-quality delivery across analytics, reporting, and downstream data consumption.

Key Responsibilities of the Azure Data Business Analyst:

Data Requirements & Analysis

  • Document detailed data requirements from business use cases, covering reporting, analytics, modelling, and downstream consumption.
  • Define clear acceptance criteria to ensure accurate and testable delivery.
