Summary: The Azure Data Architect-Microsoft Fabric role is a fully remote contract position requiring a consultant with extensive experience in Azure architecture, data management, and Power BI. The consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The position is expected to last for 4-6 weeks, tentatively starting from August 1st. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field and have a strong background in data architecture and governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the single point of contact for the client for technical delivery.
- Design and develop a robust data architecture that supports the organization's data needs.
- Define data architecture framework components including integration, data management, and data consumption.
- Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards.
- Design and implement data integration solutions for ETL processes.
- Leverage Azure and Fabric services to build scalable data solutions.
- Optimize data queries and ETL processes for efficient data access.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business users to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Clarify requirements and proactively address any assumptions.
- Work flexibly with teams in different time zones.
- Be self-motivated and accountable for work and deadlines.
- Set implementation paths for projects and perform effort estimations.
- Conduct customer demos.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in Azure architecture and Microsoft Fabric components.
- Experience with data architecture design, including data lakes and warehouses.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services such as Synapse, Data Factory, and SQL DB.
- Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines for ETL processes.

Data Architecture Design:
1.Expertise in designing scalable and modular data architectures (Data Lake + Data Warehouse)
2.Experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models
Azure & Microsoft Fabric:
3.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric components (Lakehouse, Dataflows, Pipelines, etc.)
4.Proficient with Azure services: Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, SQL DB, etc.
ETL/ELT & Data Integration:
5.Experience designing and implementing data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources
6.Familiarity with both batch and real-time data processing
Data Governance & Management:
7.Understanding of data quality frameworks, metadata management, lineage, and access control
8.Ability to define and enforce governance policies
Performance Optimization:
9.Tuning ETL jobs, optimizing data models, and improving query performance

5.Data Catalogs: Experience with Microsoft Purview or other metadata management tools.
6.Agile Methodology: Comfort with Agile project delivery and sprint-based planning.
7.Scripting & Automation: Ability to use SQL, PowerShell, or Python for automation or tooling support.
8.Certifications:
Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
Additional beneficial certifications: DP-600 (Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer)/DP-700, DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer), Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent cloud/data certifications.
