Summary: The Azure Data Architect-Microsoft Fabric role involves designing and developing robust data architectures to meet organizational data needs, including data lakes and warehouses. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring data governance and quality. The candidate will also be responsible for optimizing data processes and providing technical delivery as the primary contact for clients. This is a contract position with a focus on leveraging Azure and Microsoft Fabric services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the single point of contact for the client for technical delivery.
- Design and develop a robust data architecture that supports the organization's data needs, including data lake and data warehouse components.
- Define Data Architecture framework components: Integration, Data Management, and Data Consumption.
- Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards to maintain data quality and security.
- Design and implement data integration solutions to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data lake and data warehouse.
- Leverage Azure and Fabric services to build scalable and cost-effective data solutions.
- Optimize data queries and ETL processes to ensure efficient data access and analysis.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business users to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Proactively clarify any doubts/assumptions regarding requirements.
- Work flexibly with team members in India, adhering to IST timezone.
- Be self-motivated and passionate about becoming a technology expert.
- Accountable for work and committed to deadlines.
- Set an implementation path for projects.
- Perform effort estimations for projects.
- Conduct customer demos.
Key Skills:

- Experience working with customer Business/IT teams.
- Expertise with a minimum of 8+ projects (18+ years experience) in Data Architecture Design.
- Expertise in designing scalable and modular data architectures (Data Lake + Data Warehouse).
- Experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric components (Lakehouse, Dataflows, Pipelines, etc.).
- Proficient with Azure services: Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, SQL DB, etc.
- Experience designing and implementing data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources.
- Familiarity with both batch and real-time data processing.
- Understanding of data quality frameworks, metadata management, lineage, and access control.
- Ability to define and enforce governance policies.
- Tuning ETL jobs, optimizing data models, and improving query performance.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience serving as a single point of contact for clients on technical delivery.
- Experience in modernizing legacy data warehouses to cloud-native platforms.
- Best design/coding practices.
- Experience in working in a challenging environment with unclear requirements and contributing collaboratively with the team to refine the requirements.
- Ability to offer innovative ideas/solutions that are modern and effective.
