Summary: The axiUm Dental Software Consultant is responsible for leading the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the axiUm software in academic and clinical environments. This role involves customizing modules, conducting data migrations, and providing post-go-live support while collaborating with various stakeholders. The consultant will also develop technical documentation and standard operating procedures to enhance system functionality. Strong experience with axiUm and a solid understanding of academic clinic operations are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead implementation, configuration, and optimization of axiUm in academic and clinical settings.
- Customize and support modules including:
- Clinical documentation
- Patient scheduling
- Electronic billing and claims
- Insurance management
- Treatment planning
- Financial reporting (A/R, ERA, statements)
- Create and maintain custom workflows tailored to dental education programs.
- Conduct data migrations, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and training sessions.
- Collaborate with IT, dental faculty, and administrators to identify pain points and recommend solutions.
- Work closely with Exan (vendor) and internal stakeholders for system upgrades and issue resolution.
- Develop technical documentation and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Provide post-go-live support, including troubleshooting and enhancements.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with axiUm (Exan) in higher education or dental organizations.
- Strong understanding of academic clinic operations and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience in:
- axiUm configuration/customization
- SQL reporting and data extracts
- ERA setup and insurance claim workflows
- Dental coding (CDT codes) and billing cycles
- Ability to interpret and implement business rules in a clinical or academic setting.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
