Summary: The AWS Security Engineer role is a contract position focused on developing and maintaining security platforms for cloud applications and pipeline security. The engineer will work with a diverse tech stack, including Azure and AWS, to design and configure security tooling. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to implement necessary security controls within development environments. The role is classified as inside IR35 and is available for a duration of 6 months, with remote working options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain security platforms for cloud applications and pipeline security.
- Design, develop, and configure security tooling.
- Work with a varied tech stack, including Azure, AWS, and diverse SaaS tools.
- Implement security controls within development pipelines.
- Manage stakeholder communications at both technical and non-technical levels.
- Conduct threat modeling and dynamic security testing.
- Automate security processes and configurations.
- Utilize scripting languages for security automation.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and practices.
- Engage in software development at a senior developer level.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant experience.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in a security tooling/SOC environment.
- Experience with Cyber Security application within development pipelines.
- Understanding of source control and development platforms (e.g., GitHub, ADO).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and secure development practices.
- Basic threat modeling and dynamic security testing experience.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Experience with Azure/AWS security configuration and automation.
- Familiarity with information security concepts and technologies (e.g., IDS, SIEM, web application firewalls).
- Experience with SIEM toolsets, including the ELK stack.
- Software development abilities at a senior developer level.
