Key responsibilities include leading the migration effort, resolving performance issues, and collaborating with engineering teams for integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration effort from Solr to OpenSearch.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance, scaling, and indexing issues.
  • Design and optimize indexing strategies for large datasets (500M+ documents).
  • Configure, tune, and monitor OpenSearch clusters in AWS environments.
  • Implement best practices for query performance, relevance tuning, and cluster stability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate OpenSearch.
  • Provide guidance and troubleshooting for production issues.
  • Develop monitoring, alerting, and backup strategies for search infrastructure.

Key Skills:

  • Proven expertise with AWS OpenSearch/Elasticsearch (minimum 5+ years).
  • Strong background in search migration projects (Solr to Elasticsearch/OpenSearch preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Cluster design, sharding, and replication
    • Indexing strategies for large-scale data
    • Performance tuning and query optimization

  • Familiarity with ECM platforms is highly desirable.
  • Experience handling high-volume document repositories (hundreds of millions to billions of documents).
