Summary: The AWS IoT Specialist role focuses on developing solutions utilizing the AWS IoT portfolio, including IoT Core and IoT Site Wise. The position requires expertise in various AWS services and programming languages to design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure solutions. The specialist will work closely with architects and engineers to address project requirements and improve system performance. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within the Central US time zone are essential for this remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under guidance from Client Digital Enterprise Architects, Security Architects, and AWS Cloud Engineers, propose design and implement detailed solutions based on AWS IoT services in support of project requirements
- Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the current solution architecture, identifying performance bottlenecks, integration gaps, and scalability limitations
- Design, develop, and deploy an event notification solution consuming data from AWS IoT Site Wise
- Develop a Grafana-based dashboard displaying key metrics across all customers using data from AWS IoT Site Wise
- Design, develop, and deploy a dashboard to display and track work orders for customer sites
- Advise on trade-offs, risks, and options for multiple potential solutions
- Implement the configuration in the system using infrastructure as code IAC methods, such as Terraform, where applicable, and with Python scripting in areas where Terraform is not applicable
- Implement solutions that are deployable automatically and can be integrated into CICD pipelines
- Document and advise on testing and QA approaches for configurations
- Document solutions, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and operational runbooks

The AWS IoT Solution Architect / Developer brings deep and broad subject matter expertise in developing solutions based on the AWS IoT portfolio of services including IoT Core and IoT Site Wise The role also brings solution development competency in other AWS services such as Lambda Managed Services for Grafana API Gateway DynamoDB Quick sight and Aurora MySQL Expertise in designing developing and deploying solutions using these and other AWS services along with coding solutions using Python JavaScript and Terraform is key to success in this role This expertise is leveraged to develop and implement well architected solutions based upon AWS services that improve functions and features available to users while maintaining security scalability and resilience of the customer solution.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering system analysis, mathematics, or a related study, or equivalent experience
- AWS Certifications are not required, but are preferred
Experience
- 5 years experience architecting and developing solutions with AWS
- 3 years experience with developing solutions for AWS IoT services
- 3 years experience developing with Python and AWS Lambda
- 3 years experience developing IAC configurations with Terraform
- 3 years experience developing dashboards and visualization solutions with Grafana
- 3 years experience with SQL, JSON, JavaScript, REST APIs, DynamoDB API Gateway, Aurora MySQL, QuickSight
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in US English
