AWS HealthLake – FHIR SME / Architect

AWS HealthLake – FHIR SME / Architect to lead healthcare interoperability and cloud architecture initiatives.

Key Requirements

• 10+ years of overall IT experience with strong healthcare domain expertise.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with HL7 FHIR (R4 preferred) and healthcare interoperability standards.
• Proven experience implementing and architecting solutions using AWS HealthLake.
• Strong knowledge of:
• SMART-on-FHIR
• HL7 v2, CDA/CCD, X12
• US Core Profiles and FHIR Implementation Guides
• Healthcare terminologies (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, CPT, RxNorm)
• Expertise in AWS services including:
• HealthLake
• Lambda
• API Gateway
• S3
• Glue
• Athena
• Step Functions
• EventBridge
• IAM and KMS
• Experience designing HIPAA-compliant healthcare solutions.
• Strong background in healthcare data integration, FHIR data modeling, and API architecture.
• Experience integrating with EHR/EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of payer-provider interoperability, population health, risk adjustment, or value-based care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement enterprise healthcare solutions using AWS HealthLake.
• Design and govern FHIR-based interoperability frameworks.
• Lead healthcare data ingestion, transformation, and integration initiatives.
• Define security, compliance, and governance standards.
• Collaborate with business, clinical, and engineering stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship on AWS healthcare services and FHIR best practices.

Preferred Certifications :

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• HL7 FHIR Certification
• Relevant AWS Healthcare certifications
• Strong Experience hands-on AWS HealthLake implementation experience and deep expertise in healthcare interoperability and FHIR architecture.
