Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze AWS cloud spend using AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, and Cost & Usage Reports (CUR).
  • Identify cost trends, anomalies, waste patterns, and optimization opportunities.
  • Create daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports and provide actionable spend insights to stakeholders.
  • Optimize AWS spend using Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and Spot Instances.
  • Perform workload analysis for utilization, coverage, and commitment recommendations.
  • Implement rightsizing strategies for EC2, RDS, EBS, and Kubernetes workloads.
  • Recommend purchase strategies based on usage patterns.
  • Build cloud cost budgets aligned with business goals and create forecasting models using historical usage trends.
  • Define monthly budgets, project-level cost limits, and department-level spend targets.
  • Configure budget alerts and anomaly notifications.
  • Design and implement chargeback models and showback frameworks.
  • Allocate costs across teams, applications, cost centers, and business units.
  • Develop dashboards and executive reports using SQL, Python, Excel, Amazon QuickSight, Microsoft Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Develop automated cost-control workflows and automate idle resource cleanup, scheduling policies, and reporting jobs.
  • Define and enforce tagging standards and implement mandatory tags.
  • Work closely with cloud engineering teams, finance teams, product owners, and leadership to drive cost accountability initiatives.
