AWS DevOps Specialist

Our client is a rapidly growing B2B data services software company that is revolutionizing the way businesses identify and engage with each other. The AWS DevOps Specialist role is a crucial part of their continued success and growth. This AWS DevOps Specialist position offers the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to shape the company's cloud infrastructure from the ground up. You will join a passionate, motivated team and play a pivotal role in taking the product to market. This is a fully remote 12 month contract role (potential to be extended) and our client will consider candidates based in any country as long as you match all the must have skills and are at the top of your game.

Technical Must Have Skills:

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional - Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS infrastructure, including services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, EventBridge, AppSync, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch.
• TypeScript Expertise - Proficient in TypeScript, with experience in implementing business features and CDK constructs.
• AWS CDK - Proven track record of using AWS CDK to create and manage infrastructure as code.
• CI/CD Pipelines - Expertise in developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless integration and deployment of the AWS infrastructure.
• Scalability and Performance Optimization - Ability to optimize the infrastructure for continuous scalability and improved performance.

Technical Nice to Have Skills:

• Serverless Architecture - Experience in implementing and supporting serverless solutions, such as AWS Lambda, to enhance the overall efficiency and scalability of the infrastructure.
• Microservices Architecture - Understanding of microservices architecture and its benefits in the context of the client's cloud-based platform.
• Monitoring and Logging - Familiarity with setting up and managing monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the reliability and visibility of the AWS infrastructure.
• Infrastructure as Code - Proficiency in writing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to promote consistency and maintainability.
• Collaboration and Mentorship - Experience in working closely with development teams and providing guidance on AWS-related solutions and best practices.

Additional Functional Requirements:

• Problem-Solving Mindset - Ability to approach challenges with a proactive, innovative, and hands-on approach to drive continuous improvements.
• Attention to Detail - Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the quality and reliability of the AWS infrastructure.
• Adaptability - Willingness to quickly familiarize with the client's existing infrastructure and adapt to new technologies as needed.
• Collaboration and Communication - Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Remote Work Experience - Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment, with some overlap with the client's headquarters work schedule.

Educational and Certification Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional - Holding this certification is a must-have requirement for the role.
