Summary: The role of Senior AWS DevOps Engineer involves leading the architecture and automation of secure cloud environments for a public sector consultancy focused on national security. The position requires expertise in Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and end-to-end testing processes. The successful candidate will also implement DevSecOps practices and manage complex containerized ecosystems within AWS. This is a fully remote position with a lucrative daily rate and requires active SC Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Architect and manage containerized ecosystems using Docker and Kubernetes within AWS.
- Build and maintain high-performance CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
- Design and implement an automated testing process across the SDLC.
- Embed DevSecOps best practices using security tools like SonarQube, Snyk, and OWASP.
Key Skills:
- 5-10 years of experience in DevOps and Cloud Engineering with AWS expertise.
- Expertise in setting up and owning the testing process.
- Current active SC Clearance and Sole British National status.
- Experience in automating integration and deployment processes.
- Proficiency in observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.

We are seeking a senior AWS DevOps Engineer to spearhead the architecture and automation of secure, scalable cloud environments. This role is unique as it demands a specialist who not only masters Kubernetes and IaC but can also take full ownership of the end-to-end testing process, from initial strategy to final execution.
The Role
- Lead the delivery of robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible to ensure repeatable cloud environments.
- Architect and manage complex containerised ecosystems using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) within highly secure AWS frameworks.
- Build, optimize, and maintain high-performance CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
- Design and implement a comprehensive end-to-end automated testing process, taking full accountability for its success across the SDLC.
- Embed DevSecOps best practices into the core workflow using advanced security tools like SonarQube, Snyk, and OWASP.
What You'll Need
- Over 5-10 years of hands-on experience in DevOps and Cloud Engineering with deep AWS architecture expertise.
- Expert-level ability to set up and "own" the testing process from beginning to end—this is a critical requirement for this project.
- MUST hold current active SC Clearance and be a Sole British National due to the sensitive nature of the public sector work.
- Proven track record in automating integration and deployment processes within complex, regulated environments.
- Strong proficiency in observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
