The role True Worth is working with an established international internet services business that runs platforms other businesses depend on every minute of the day. They need an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to run, support and improve the AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure behind those platforms. This is a hands-on role. The work is mostly reliability, automation, CI/CD and making the platform easier to see into and run. You will work closely with the DevOps, DNS engineering and software development teams. It suits someone who takes ownership and can work on their own. You should be comfortable questioning things that don't look right, and you should understand that on critical services, stability matters as much as delivery speed.
What you will be doing
- Running and maintaining the AWS and Kubernetes platform
- Supporting and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployments
- Keeping the platform reliable, available and performing well
- Improving monitoring, alerting, logging and dashboards, and finding the gaps in what the team can currently see
- Using incident and operational data to improve reliability and performance
- Automating infrastructure and operational tasks
- Supporting incident response, troubleshooting and service recovery
- Keeping documentation, runbooks and procedures accurate and up to date
- Working with the on-premises infrastructure teams to coordinate connectivity, dependencies and changes
- Helping to manage the backlog and prioritise technical work

What you need
- 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or infrastructure engineering
- Strong production Kubernetes experience
- Strong Terraform experience
- Docker and container deployment experience
- Strong Linux administration skills
- Good understanding of networking, load balancing and infrastructure security
- CI/CD pipeline experience, ideally with GitHub Actions
- Hands-on monitoring, observability and incident response experience
- Working knowledge of Python or a similar scripting language
- Experience working within structured change management
Nice to have
- Good knowledge of DNS, including DNSSEC
- Experience across both cloud and on-premises environments
- Experience with Rancher
- Experience of working in small teams where you are expected to take ownership
