Summary: The role of AWS Software Developer involves joining a public sector client's IT department, focusing on developing solutions using AWS technologies and modern programming languages. The position requires significant experience with AWS services, Typescript, and ReactJS, among others, while adhering to Agile methodologies. This is a 6-month contract with potential extensions, primarily remote work with occasional office visits in Edinburgh or Glasgow. The role is classified as outside IR35 with a competitive day rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop solutions using AWS technologies including CDK, Serverless (Lambda), S3, API Gateway, Cloud Formation, and AWS RDS for Postgres.
- Utilize Typescript (or modern JavaScript) and Node for development.
- Implement user interfaces with Vanilla ReactJS and/or NextJS.
- Work with Java and SpringBoot for backend development.
- Design and implement service-based and serverless architecture solutions.
- Participate in Agile delivery models such as Scrum and/or Kanban.
- Ensure compliance with GDS or Digital First quality standards.
- Utilize cloud monitoring and telemetry tools and processes.
- Apply formal XP engineering techniques, including Pair Programming and Test Driven Development.
- Define infrastructure-as-code for deployment and management.
Key Skills:
- Significant experience with AWS services and tools.
- Proficiency in Typescript (or modern JavaScript) and Node.
- Experience with Vanilla ReactJS and/or NextJS.
- Knowledge of Java and SpringBoot.
