AWS Cloud Engineer

Summary: The AWS Cloud Engineer role at Tesco Bank, facilitated by AMS, involves the development, delivery, and optimization of data assets within a modern engineering environment. This position is initially a 6-month remote contract with occasional travel to Edinburgh. The engineer will collaborate with teams to manage data platforms and contribute to the implementation of Infrastructure as Code and Continuous Integration/Deployment practices. The role emphasizes a strong AWS skill set and a collaborative mindset to enhance data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will be key in delivering value across all data platforms while working within a modern engineering workplace.
• Work alongside colleagues within our Smarter Decisioning Platform team to manage and maintain the Data Platform.
• Be involved with the development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Application as Code (AaC).
• Ensure the data platform is kept up to date with monthly AMI's.
• Maintain and work against medium to long-term plans to improve automated Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Contribute to embedding an agile mindset and approach focused on improving outcomes.

Key Skills:

• Strong AWS skills.

• Jenkins (and/or GitLab), 'Containerisation' or 'Docker/Podman'
• An analytical and creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
