Summary: Cognizant is looking for an experienced AWS Enterprise/Solutions Architect to lead Cloud Center of Excellence initiatives. The role involves defining AWS cloud architecture, governance, and enterprise guardrails while ensuring compliance with AWS best practices and client standards. The architect will also be responsible for designing large-scale AWS architectures and providing architectural guidance for various AWS workloads. Strong expertise in AWS services and cloud governance is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead AWS landing zone and Control Tower / AFT assessments and improvements
- Define multi-account strategy, environment separation, and shared services model
- Design IAM architecture, including roles, permission boundaries, and AWS Identity Center integration
- Define network architecture, segmentation, routing, and connectivity guardrails
- Establish enterprise tagging, naming standards, and security/compliance guardrails (SCP intent)
- Create and maintain AWS reference architectures and golden paths (EC2, ECS, EKS, Serverless)
- Define policy-as-code intent in collaboration with DevOps teams
- Provide architectural guidance for DR, resilience, RTO/RPO, and SRE fundamentals
- Review designs and provide architectural oversight for AWS workloads
- Develop COE documentation, standards, and onboarding materials
Key Skills:
- Strong expertise in AWS Organizations, Control Tower, IAM, VPC, and Security services
- Experience with enterprise cloud governance and compliance models
- Hands-on experience designing large-scale AWS architectures
- Strong understanding of security, networking, resilience, and cost optimization
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Prior experience setting up AWS Platform or Cloud COE will be preferred
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred)
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty
