Summary: The Automation Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing automated test scripts using Python and Playwright within a HealthTech consultancy focused on the public sector. This role requires collaboration with development teams to ensure software quality and reliability through comprehensive testing practices. The position is remote and initially for a duration of three months, with a day rate of up to £400. Experience in HealthTech, the public sector, or the NHS is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automated test scripts using Python & Playwright.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and design test cases that cover all functional and non-functional aspects.
  • Execute and maintain automated test suites to validate the functionality, performance, and security of software applications.
  • Identify, track, and report defects, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues and implement corrective actions to improve overall software quality.
  • Continuously enhance and optimize the automation testing framework and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective test coverage and participate in agile development practices.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience as an Automation Test Engineer, with a focus on Python & Playwright.
  • NHS and/or public sector work experience is a major advantage.
  • Solid understanding of automated testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium.
  • Proficient in designing and implementing test automation scripts using Python & Playwright.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
