Summary: The Automation Test Analyst role involves creating and executing automation tests primarily using Java, Cucumber, Rest Assured, and SoapUI. The position requires proficiency in Agile methodologies and a strong understanding of test automation principles, including risk-based testing and defect management processes. The successful candidate will also need to undergo UK Security Vetting at SC/DV level. This is a fully remote position with a contract duration of 6 months or more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create automation tests in Java using Cucumber, Rest Assured and SoapUI
  • Analyses requirements and designs to specify, produce and execute functional and non-functional tests. These may be executed automated or manually.
  • Collate/review test results and produce test reports
  • Trace tests back to requirements, measure and report on coverage
  • From a design, produce tests in the toolset referenced to be able to demonstrate the requirements identified
  • Proficiency with Agile
  • Understand the roles of business analysis and software development in the lifecycles above
  • Understand the role of the test automation engineer in the lifecycles above
  • Apply the agreed defect management processes and ensure these processes are followed
  • Understand and apply the principles of risk-based testing
  • Proactively respond to new or increasing risks and issues, proposing and implementing mitigations
  • Contribute to automation design.
  • From an automation design produce automated tests and the Test Frameworks and environments in which the tests are executed
  • Be familiar with more than one development language, understand software development principles such as versioning, reuse, readability, portability and maintenance
  • Proficient with different approaches to test automation and different toolsets including Virtual Services, Test Data Management, Mocking and CI/CD
  • Be able to provide consultancy on topics in this area to internal stakeholders, team members and clients
  • Carry out Proof of Concepts to ensure that tools and systems are compatible and automation testing would be successfully executed
  • Experience working in an Agile environment as part of an Agile team is a must
  • Understanding and use of AWS.

This engagement is outside IR35 and will be delivered on a statement-of-work basis. The supplier will determine the method, resources, and approach to deliver the agreed outcomes
