Summary: The role of an Atlassian Consultant involves managing the Atlassian toolset for a Government Department team within a global IT consultancy. The consultant will leverage extensive hands-on experience in administering Atlassian tools and will be responsible for development and support tasks. The position requires strong communication skills and knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly with AWS. The role is remote with occasional meetings in Croydon and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Atlassian toolset used by the programme.
- Provide development and support for Atlassian tools.
- Collaborate with the Atlassian vendor.
- Document processes and maintain good documentation principles.
- Build infrastructure in the cloud and design for the cloud.
- Create and deploy dashboards, agile/scrum boards, workflows, custom fields, and schemes in JIRA.
- Understand and manage roles, permissions, and security levels within different apps.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience as an Atlassian Administrator.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of new technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Sound knowledge of Linux.
- Understanding of CI environments and automation processes.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Understanding of projects, issues, spaces, pages, and repositories.
- Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Previous application support and/or DevOps background is a plus.

A global IT consultancy are looking for an Atlassian expert to join them on a Government Department team focused on development and support of the Atlassian toolset.
You will be responsible for managing the Atlassian toolset used by the programme and as such you will have extensive hands-on experience in administration of Atlassian Tools.
Your skills and experience:
- Extensive experience as a Atlassian Administrator and a relationship with the Atlassian vendor.
- Good communication skills, both in written and verbal form.
- Knowledge in new technologies (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Extremely sound knowledge of Linux.
- Understanding of CI environments and how they facilitate the automation process with other orchestration tools.
- Experience of building infrastructure in the cloud and designing for the cloud. We primarily work with AWS so knowledge in this area is particularly valuable.
- Show understanding of the concepts of projects, issues, spaces, pages and repositories
- Have previously created and deployed dashboards, agile/scrum boards, workflows, custom fields and schemes in JIRA
- Understands application linking, gadget and macro feeds.
- How roles, permissions and security levels work within the different apps and how they can be managed from a central user directory.
- Experience with PostgreSQL a definite plus.
- Good documentation principles.
- Previous application support and/or a DevOps background is a plus.
