Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance support for elements of the capital budget, overseeing engagement with capital budget holders.
  • Key role in yearend capital budget and accounting procedures, liaising across teams to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to resource management within the capital team.
  • Support the Functional Lead in delivering service requirements, including finance support for the capital budget and annual accounts process.
  • Manage capital budget and yearend processes assigned by the functional lead, maximizing efficiency.
  • Assist in overseeing workload distribution and ensuring responsibilities are delivered within statutory requirements.
  • Share responsibility for developing strategies and initiatives for continuous service improvement.
  • Ensure development and leadership of effective systems and procedures for customer-oriented service.
  • Resolve service issues and queries through analysis and investigation, escalating as necessary.
  • Continuously monitor performance through reports and address areas of concern with the Functional Lead.
  • Maintain clear audit trails and action lessons learned.
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects with a focus on digital approaches.

Key Skills:

  • Part qualified accountant with membership in one of the five CCAB bodies or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to achieve targets in a demanding environment against challenging deadlines.
  • Experience delivering high-quality service to users.
  • Experience in managing finance policy, financial planning, capital budget control, and providing advice to budget holders.
  • Experience in maintaining and developing Fixed Asset Registers.
