Application Migration Tester Healthcare / Databricks

We are looking for an experienced Application Migration Tester to support a healthcare payer client migrating from a legacy SQL Server / SSIS data warehouse environment to Databricks. The role will focus on application and data migration testing, source-to-target validation, functional and integration testing, UAT, regression testing, and cutover validation.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business, functional, and testing requirements related to the migration.
• Develop test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of applications impacted by the migration.
• Validate application functionality, interfaces, reports, and downstream business processes after migration.
• Perform source-to-target data validation, reconciliation, and data-quality testing using SQL.
• Validate business rules, data mappings, transformation logic, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Test integrations and connectivity between legacy applications, Databricks, downstream systems, and reporting platforms.
• Identify and manage defects related to data, application functionality, integrations, configurations, and environments.
• Coordinate UAT activities with client SMEs and business stakeholders and manage sign-offs.
• Support parallel-run validation, regression testing, cutover readiness, go-live, and post-production verification.
• Maintain data mapping documents, test cases, traceability matrices, and defect logs.
• Work closely with data engineers, application teams, security teams, business SMEs, and other stakeholders.
• Support validation of PHI masking, data classification, RBAC, security, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• 8 10+ years of experience in Application Testing, QA, Business Analysis, and/or Data Migration Testing.
• Strong experience supporting application, data warehouse, ETL/ELT, or cloud migration projects.
• Hands-on SQL experience for data validation, reconciliation, and defect investigation.
• Strong experience with source-to-target mapping and data-quality testing.
• Experience with functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and UAT testing.
• Experience validating applications and downstream systems following data/platform migrations.
• Experience with SQL Server and SSIS environments.
• Exposure to Databricks, dbt, or modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience supporting phased migrations, cutovers, parallel runs, and production validation.
• Knowledge of PHI/PII, data masking, RBAC, data governance, and HIPAA requirements.
• Healthcare payer domain experience, including membership, eligibility, claims, and provider data.
• Experience with Agile delivery environments using Jira and Confluence.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Desired Skills

• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog.
• Exposure to data masking or tokenization tools such as Presidio or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with Medallion Architecture Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 and FHIR.
• Exposure to Epic, Cogito, or similar healthcare data platforms.
• Experience validating large-scale cloud or data-platform migrations.
