Summary: The Application Disaster Recovery Lead Consultant will leverage over 12 years of experience, including a minimum of 3 years in disaster recovery (DR), to guide application owners through failover testing processes. This role requires a strong technical understanding of DR practices, particularly in cloud and on-prem environments, without direct hands-on execution. The consultant will ensure that testing is documented accurately and that application owners are supported throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:

- Must guide application owners who execute the tests.
- Deep familiarity with cloud and on-prem DR practices (AWS, Azure, Zerto, Commvault, Veeam).

- 8+ years experience in DR, restoration, and backup operations preferred.
- DR certifications not mandatory (Carrie holds relevant certs).
- Regulatory familiarity (HIPAA, SOC 2) is helpful.
- Generalist system/network engineers without DR experience will not be considered.

We are looking for someone with strong DR experience, over 3 years minimum with overall 12 years experience. This person will not be doing hands on failover testing themselves- this will be done by the respective application owner. The technical knowledge and experience are necessary however, as they will be guiding each application owner through this process and verifying that the work will be done correctly.

- Environments are either 100% cloud or 100% on-prem no hybrid.
- Testing done in non-prod when possible; prod testing only off-hours if required.
- No physical travel required; production data centers are remotely managed.
Skillset Requirements
- 8+ years experience in DR, restoration, and backup operations preferred.
- DR certifications not mandatory (Carrie holds relevant certs).
- Regulatory familiarity (HIPAA, SOC 2) is helpful

Testing Structure
- Tests tracked by number of tests, not number of applications.
- Applications with shared architecture or identical recovery processes will be grouped.
