Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to translate business requirements into database designs.
- Utilize modern data modeling tools for physical data modeling.
- Follow and contribute to data modeling best practices.
- Promote the capture and retention of metadata using a data catalog solution.
- Collaborate with database engineering, big data, and information security teams to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relational database design and data normalization experience.
- Excellent collaboration and verbal & written communication skills.
- Experience in an agile/scrum environment.
- Experience with data modeling tools like DbSchema, ER/Studio, or erwin.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Experience with structuring data for NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB (highly preferred).
- Experience with microservices architecture (highly preferred).
- Experience using cloud platforms, especially AWS (highly preferred).
- Experience with data catalog tools like Alation or Collibra (highly preferred).
- Understanding of Data Governance concerns (highly preferred).
- Experience in Insurance, Insurtech, or Fintech environments (highly preferred).

We're looking for someone who has: - A formal education (Bachelor's degree) in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. - Minimum 5 years relational database design and data normalization experience. - Excellent collaboration and verbal & written communication skills. - Experience working in an agile/scrum environment as a shared resource. - Experience with data modeling tools like DbSchema, ER/Studio or erwin. - Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
