About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer to take ownership of a modern data platform that sits at the heart of a fast-growing ecommerce business.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys operating as a true data SME. You'll be responsible for both the analytics function and the underlying data platform, supporting everything from executive reporting and commercial insights through to operational processes that directly impact supplier ordering and fulfilment.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit within a large data team. We're looking for a self-starter who can work independently, influence stakeholders and drive improvements across the business.

Own the Data Platform
- Manage and improve data ingestion processes
- Own dbt models, testing and documentation
- Maintain and optimise Airflow pipelines
- Manage Snowflake performance, governance and cost optimisation
- Support reverse ETL processes that feed operational supplier systems
- Ensure reliability across business-critical data workflows
Own the Analytics Layer
- Improve reporting and self-service analytics capabilities
- Build and optimise dashboards and KPI reporting
- Deliver executive and board-level reporting
- Support commercial, operational and marketing decision-making
- Evaluate and influence future BI tooling and reporting strategy
Drive AI Adoption
- Reduce manual and ad-hoc reporting processes
- Introduce AI-enabled analytics solutions
- Drive self-service access to data and insights
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive business processes

Essential
- Strong experience with Snowflake
- Excellent SQL and Python skills
- Hands-on experience with dbt and Airflow
- Experience owning data platforms end-to-end
- Strong understanding of modern analytics engineering practices
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience delivering business-facing analytics and reporting
Highly Desirable
- Experience within ecommerce, retail or supply chain environments
- Previous experience working in SMEs, startups or scale-ups
- Experience acting as a Data Lead, Analytics Engineer or sole data owner
- Exposure to reverse ETL architectures
- Experience implementing AI or automation solutions within data workflows

Contract Details
