Analytics Engineer / Data Engineer

Summary: The Analytics Engineer / Data Engineer role is a 12+ month contract position focused on building and supporting analytics backend systems for business intelligence. The position requires expertise in data extraction, data flows, and familiarity with BI reporting systems. Candidates should have experience with big data platforms and proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks. This role is remote and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and support analytics backend systems for business intelligence.
• Extract data from complex data warehouses using SQL and/or stored procedures.
• Manage data flows, hierarchies, and data aggregation.
• Utilize BI reporting systems such as Tableau.
• Apply software development principles and operations.
• Work with big data platforms such as Hadoop and Cloudera.
• Use Python (pySpark, pandas) for data engineering tasks.
• Conduct data analysis, logic, and statistics.
• Administer Tableau environment as needed.
• Utilize computer applications including Tableau, SQL, and Hadoop (including Impala, Spark).
