Summary: The Alation Architect role at DataAffect involves designing and implementing Data Governance solutions using Alation for mid to large-scale organizations. The position requires collaboration with various team leads and offshore developers to execute implementation and integration use cases. The architect will also strategize and define policies for data governance while staying updated with Alation's latest features. This is a remote position with a duration of over six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience as a DG technical solution architect - designed and implemented Data Governance solutions for mid to large-scale organizations using Alation
- Work with Data Governance Practice Lead, Data Quality Lead, Metadata Lead, and other team members to execute the Alation Data Governance Implementation and Integration Use Cases.
- Coordinate and guide the offshore developers for building the deliverables.
- Review/ design the future state meta-model/operating model that can be used for subsequent implementations.
- Work closely with business/application SMEs, determine strategy for onboarding business terms/ glossary, identify critical data elements.
- Strategize SOP for onboarding business glossaries, followed by deduplication, rationalization and standardization of business terms.
- Design and finalize approach for business glossary capture, metadata ingestion, data lineage, integration with external tools such as Manta and Ataccama.
- Design and define templates for custom metadata ingestion manually as well as using APIs.
- Define & create policies for data governance in Alation.
- Design & construct OOTB/ custom workflows using Alation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Alation features and best practices
- Nice if the candidate has Alation certification, such as Alation certified consultant
- Closely work with Offshore team, co-ordinate, assist and guide them to ensure seamless delivery.
Key Skills:
- Experience as a DG technical solution architect
