AI-Native Software Engineer Cloud (AWS)

Job Summary

Client is looking for an experienced AI-Native Software Engineer with deep AWS expertise to design, build, modernize, and support highly scalable and secure cloud applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack software engineering experience, hands-on expertise with AWS cloud services, and demonstrated ability to use AI technologies throughout the software development lifecycle.

This engineer will work closely with technical leadership and engineering teams to architect enterprise-scale APIs, modernize legacy/monolithic applications, build cloud-native services, and explore new approaches to securing AI-built and agent-operated systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support production-grade cloud applications on AWS.
• Architect highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure API platforms and distributed systems.
• Modernize legacy applications and monolithic architectures into scalable cloud-native solutions.
• Develop backend services using Python, Java, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Build modern front-end applications using React, JavaScript, Backbone, or comparable frameworks.
• Leverage AI technologies throughout the SDLC, including:
• Breaking user stories into actionable development tasks
• AI-assisted coding
• AI-assisted testing
• Automated defect identification and resolution
• Generating and validating production-ready software
• Build and deploy customer-facing applications using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
• Design systems using scalable technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, CockroachDB, Oracle, and other distributed data platforms.
• Implement security, reliability, monitoring, and fault-tolerance best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to define technical direction and execution plans.
• Participate in Agile development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
• Help define how application security evolves as AI, GenAI, and agentic software development become increasingly integrated into engineering workflows.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience as a Software Engineer / Full Stack Engineer / Cloud Software Engineer.
• Deep hands-on AWS development and production deployment experience.
• Strong experience with AWS:
• EC2
• Lambda
• ECS/EKS
• S3
• RDS/DynamoDB
• API Gateway
• Strong backend development experience with Python, Java, Node.js, or similar.
• Strong frontend experience with React, JavaScript, Backbone, or similar technologies.
• Experience building large-scale, secure, highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Experience with one or more of:
• Kafka
• Elasticsearch
• MongoDB
• CockroachDB
• Oracle
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools/technologies across the software development lifecycle.
• Experience building and supporting customer-facing production applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, APIs, distributed systems, security, and scalability.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certification.
• CISSP, CCSP, or similar security certification.
• Experience with GenAI / Agentic AI / AI-native software development.
• Experience modernizing legacy or monolithic applications.
• Experience with enterprise-scale API platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
