Summary: This role involves leading the architecture of a greenfield AI infrastructure program focused on building a large NVIDIA-based AI factory platform in the UK. The AI Architect will be responsible for the end-to-end design and deployment of data center architecture, including GPU clusters, storage, and networking, in preparation for a large-scale rollout. The position is remote with some travel required and is classified as outside IR35. The contract is for an initial duration of 12 months with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end to end AI data centre architecture across all sites
- Design GPU cluster platforms using NVIDIA reference architectures
- Define standards for racks, cabling, power, cooling and layouts
- Design InfiniBand, Ethernet and GPU fabrics for AI workloads
- Architect storage platforms to feed high performance GPU clusters
- Produce reference architectures, HLDs and LLDs
- Work with NVIDIA, HP and systems integrators on platform design
- Support automation teams to ensure repeatable, scalable deployments
Key Skills:
- Proven experience building NVIDIA GPU based AI or HPC platforms
- Strong background in data centre and infrastructure architecture
- Experience with HGX, DGX, H100, H200 or similar platforms
- Knowledge of InfiniBand, NVLink, RoCE and high speed fabrics
- Experience designing high density power and cooling environments
- Exposure to AI factories, SuperPods or hyperscale GPU clusters
- Ability to create repeatable blueprints for multi site deployment

This is a greenfield AI infrastructure programme backed by significant private investment, building one of the largest NVIDIA based AI factory platforms in the UK. You will take full ownership of the end to end AI data centre architecture, defining how GPU clusters, storage, networking, power and cooling are designed and deployed across multiple sites ahead of large scale rollout from March 2026.

Contract Details:
Duration: Initial 12 months with strong extension potential
Day Rate: Depending on experience
Location: UK wide with some travel. This is a remote role with infrequent travel.
