Summary: The ADMS SCADA Engineer (GIS Focused) role is centered on managing and maintaining network and SCADA models within the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). The position requires a focus on GIS and IT aspects, with responsibilities including the creation and validation of network displays and automation views. The engineer will work independently while collaborating with a team to ensure the accuracy and functionality of electric system models. This is a remote position with a duration of 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Builds and maintains network displays for distribution, substation and transmission views
- Completes SCADA mapping of electrical devices
- Understands internal views and how to build and maintain them
- Understands how to create, validate and maintain distribution automation and one-line composite views
- Provides analysis and validation of auto-generated views
- Applies analytical skills to import GIS information, troubleshoot errors and develops solutions
- Provides guidance by defining the data cleanup scope for GIS team
- Provides analysis and troubleshooting for testing and commissioning new devices
- Provides technical support for point-to-point testing
- Proficient with business standards to review, analyze and confirm network model and substation validations
- Develops symbols and symbol profiles within ADMS
- Responsible for facilitating other data feeds into ADMS (load profiles, customer data, etc.)
- Analyzes and promotes model changes into ADMS network
- Develops and analyzes additional data sources for ADMS
- Management of non-telemetered points for their model configuration (catalogs, tags, notes)
- Effectively completes issue reporting and communications with other teams
- Reviews work of less experienced team members.
Key Skills:

Job Summary:
- The role remains focused on GIS/ADMS and the IT side of this. SCADA is nice to have but not required
- Will create and maintain the network and SCADA models of the distribution, substation and transmission systems within the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
- These models represent and accurately reflect the current state of the electric systems which are both manually and automatically updated by device status changes and communications to field devices.
- The models provide status and information about the network and are used to operate the network, and need to be built, validated and maintained using application principles, practices and the software solution.
- Works on software applications and issues that are of moderate scope and complexity.
- Works with limited direction and plans work independently based on goals and objectives of team and business unit. As part of a team, transacts day-to-day technical business given a competent knowledge of the work.
