Summary: The UK Accounting Specialist role involves collaborating with Payroll Specialists to deliver accurate payroll accounting services for a leading global FMCG company. The position requires a strong understanding of payroll processes, with responsibilities including payroll accrual calculations, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting audits. The jobholder will also identify process improvements and ensure compliance with legal regulations. This is a remote position open to UK-based candidates only.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and post all relevant Payroll accruals
  • Preparation and approval of Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Execute assigned transactions and steps as per the Period-End Close Schedule
  • Provide support for external and internal audit review for local unit activities
  • Liaise with MyP&O, Global Mobility Team, Treasury, Pension provider and Payroll provider to ensure all activities are performed correctly and on time
  • Controlling and correcting errors in payroll calculation
  • Resolve payroll accounting and overhead queries raised by business units
  • Review control reports according to schedule
  • Perform analysis of payments versus accruals held

Key Skills:

  • English language knowledge required
  • Financial qualification ‘A’ level / Degree calibre
  • Proven systems skills and experience, preferably SAP
  • Proven accounting skills and experience of debits and credits
  • Advanced in Excel
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to organize workload
  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers
  • Ability to work as part of a team and using own initiative

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a UK Accounting specialist on behalf of a global company in the Manufacturing Industry

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to work with a team of Payroll Specialists to provide an efficient and accurate Payroll accounting service within one of top global FMCG companies. delivering accounting services on behalf of the business unit with full accordance to the process requirements and legal regulations. Perform duties diligently, responsibly and independently acquiring good knowledge of the processes, tools and applications involved in payroll accounting finding solutions on their own in non-standard cases. Able to identify areas for improvements and implement changes

Context and Scope

The jobholder will be a member of the UK Payroll and T&A Service Centre. This team provide support for in terms of knowledge, accounting, systems, process and support. The team provide cover for each other and support each other in periods of high activity. The team have processes and systems in place that they administer that they look to continuously develop in order to ensure delivery of service excellence in Payroll and T&A. The jobholder will play an important role in the delivery of accounting services for UK Payroll. The role has a number of key areas of focus:

  • Developing more efficient accounting processes and controls
  • Supporting UK business unit with queries
  • Processing and maintenance of accurate payroll costs

The jobholder will need to develop a thorough understanding of the Payroll accounting processes, specifically posting accruals, balance sheet maintenance and analysis in order to support and assist the business units with any queries.

Education & Professional Qualification

  • English language knowledge required
  • Financial qualification ‘A’ level / Degree calibre
