Summary: The Accounting Expert (US GAAP) role is a remote, part-time position focused on enhancing AI-assisted financial planning tools. The position requires a Certified Financial Planner® to leverage real-world advisory experience to improve AI-generated financial guidance for everyday households. Key Responsibilities:
- Review realistic financial planning scenarios reflecting common client conversations such as budgeting, emergency funds, debt repayment, and retirement planning
- Evaluate AI-generated financial advice for suitability, clarity, and practicality for mainstream and mass-affluent households
- Demonstrate how advisory conversations are conducted, including question frameworks, goal prioritization, and tradeoff discussions
- Provide practical financial rules of thumb used with real clients (e.g., cash reserve targets, savings benchmarks)
- Deliver detailed written feedback to improve AI-generated explanations, recommendations, and decision pathways
- Identify compliance considerations and financial risks, recommending when clients should consult specialists such as CPAs, attorneys, or insurance professionals
Key Skills:
- Several years of client-facing experience as a Financial Planner, Personal Financial Advisor, or Financial Consultant
- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, cash-flow planning, debt management, retirement planning, education savings, and risk management
- CFP® certification strongly preferred (or CFP exam passed with relevant experience)
- Other credentials such as ChFC considered with strong practical advisory experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-experts
- Strong commitment to fiduciary standards, compliance, and client-first financial guidance
- Proven financial problem-solving abilities and structured planning processes
