Summary: The Accessibility Web Engineer role focuses on designing and implementing web accessibility standards to ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The position requires extensive experience in accessibility testing and web application design, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and user-centered design principles. This is a fully remote position that requires working PST hours. The role is classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement web accessibility standards and requirements, ensuring compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria.
- Perform both automated and manual testing using screen readers, text-to-speech tools, development tools, and color contrast validation tools.
- Manually inspect code to validate and ensure accessible design practices across web applications.
- Collaborate on web, mobile, and web application design, front-end development, and testing methodologies.
- Create and refine design patterns, design systems, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
Key Skills:
- Ten (10) years of digital accessibility experience in designing for web accessibility standards.
- Extensive experience in performing accessibility testing, both automated and manual.
- Proven track record in web application design and front-end development.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
