Summary: The Ab Initio Administrator (GKE) role is a remote position focused on managing and maintaining the Ab Initio platform, with a strong emphasis on containerization and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ETL tools, particularly Ab Initio, and a solid understanding of Linux and cloud environments. Responsibilities include installations, upgrades, and configurations, as well as collaborating with technical teams to optimize technical investments. Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and cloud security is also essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage installations, upgrades, configurations, and maintenance of the Ab Initio platform.
  • Implement Ab Initio Platform using GKE.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and leadership to optimize technical investments.
  • Utilize containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Write Ansible Playbooks using YAML functions.
  • Ensure cloud security and integration across platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Work effectively in fast-paced and stressful project environments.

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience with Ab Initio installations and maintenance.
  • 2+ years of experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Redhat Linux.
  • Experience with cloud installations, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, Go, Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of storage, load balancers, virtualization, web, database, and messaging services.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and modern DevOps tools (Git, GitHub, Jira).
  • Ability to write Ansible Playbooks from scratch.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with technical teams.
  • Knowledge of cloud security product definitions and vendor integrations.

2+ years experience with containers/containerizations tools (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc)

  • 2+ years implementing Ab Initio Platform using GKE
  • Strong knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of on-prem and cloud (Google Cloud Platform) installations
  • 3+ years hands on experience with Ab Initio ETL tool.
  • 2+ years hands on experience as an Ab Initio System Administrator
  • 2+ years hands on experience with web architecture and the appropriate technology stacks such as Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, or JBOSS
  • 2+ years hands on experience with containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of Redhat Linux and OpenShift operating systems and networking concepts.
  • Strong knowledge with one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, Go, or scripting in Shell or PowerShell and Perl.
  • Good understanding of storage, load balancers, virtualization, web, database and messaging services with the ability to dive deep into any of these areas when necessary
  • Experience with Continuous Integration using modern DevOps tools and workflows such as Git, GitHub, Jira.
