3D CAD Engineer (OpenSCAD) | Remote

Summary: The role of 3D CAD Engineer (OpenSCAD) is a contract position focused on leading OpenSCAD projects from inception to final model export. The engineer will apply Constructive Solid Geometry techniques to create complex 3D models and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while documenting workflows to support AI-driven design initiatives. This position requires extensive experience in OpenSCAD and CAD principles, along with strong communication skills. The role is fully remote and project-based.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end OpenSCAD projects from requirements gathering through final model export.
• Structure and document parametric scripts with reusable modules and clearly defined parameters.
• Apply Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) techniques to develop complex 3D models and 2D-to-3D extrusions.
• Rapidly iterate on parametric designs, demonstrating logical, script-driven engineering decisions.
• Prepare and export files (STL, OFF, and other standard formats) for manufacturing or prototyping workflows.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clearly explaining design rationale and technical trade-offs.
• Document professional workflows and thought processes to support AI-driven design initiatives.

• Extensive hands-on experience completing full OpenSCAD projects from concept to final export.
• Strong foundation in CAD principles and CSG methodologies.
