2D Animator – Anime Short Film

This role is an opportunity for a skilled 2D animator to collaborate on an animated short film that explores the interplay of serenity and psychological unease. Responsibilities

• Animate a short film in a minimal, anime-inspired style, focusing on expressive and cinematic visuals
• Collaborate closely with the director to interpret and realize the creative vision, ensuring the narrative’s emotional arc is effectively conveyed
• Design and execute camera movements that transition from wide meditative shots to intimate close-ups, capturing both emotional distance and closeness
• Balance tranquil and psychologically tense moments through pacing, composition, and visual storytelling
• Deliver high-quality animation assets suitable for a contemplative, immersive viewing experience
• Communicate progress regularly and incorporate feedback throughout the production process

Skills And Requirements

• Proven experience in 2D animation, with a strong portfolio demonstrating anime-inspired, cinematic work
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software (e.g., Toon Boom, TVPaint, Adobe Animate, or similar)
• Strong sense of visual storytelling, composition, and pacing, especially in conveying mood and atmosphere
• Ability to create expressive character animation and nuanced environmental scenes
• Experience with camera work in animation, including transitions between wide and close-up shots
• Excellent communication skills and openness to creative feedback
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
• Availability for remote collaboration on a single project, with potential for future work
