13+ Years or Experience of Senior Product Designer with AI Product Design, AI product personally designed and shipped !! Remote !! W2 Contract

JOB SUMMARY

Client is building a new generation of AI-powered experiences across its digital platforms, which serve millions of customers around the world. We are hiring a Senior Product Designer to help define how these experiences look, how they behave, and how they earn customer trust.

This is a hands-on role for a designer with exceptional visual and interaction craft and strong product instincts. You will take work from ambiguous problem to shipped experience: framing the problem, defining the interaction model, prototyping until the behavior feels right, and holding the quality bar through implementation. Much of the work involves interface patterns that have no established conventions yet, which is a large part of its appeal.

The pace is faster than at most large companies. It is normal for a concept to be prototyped and in front of customers within the same week. The team is small and senior, feedback is direct, and designers own their work end to end rather than handing it off between stages. You will work daily with product managers, engineers and researchers, and present your work to senior leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the end-to-end design of AI-powered experiences, including conversational, adaptive and generative interfaces, across desktop, mobile and emerging surfaces
• Define interaction patterns for product behavior with no established conventions, such as streaming output, variable latency, uncertainty and failure states
• Build high-fidelity working prototypes to test ideas quickly and ground decisions in evidence
• Set the visual standard for the products you work on, down to typography, spacing, motion and micro-interaction detail
• Work with engineering from first concept through launch, and hold shipped quality to the original design intent
• Translate customer research and product data into specific design changes
• Contribute reusable patterns and standards that other Client teams can adopt
• Present design work clearly at every level of the company, including to senior executives

QUALIFICATIONS

• A portfolio of shipped work demonstrating exceptional visual and interaction design; this is the first thing we evaluate, and the bar is high
• Experience designing and shipping complex digital products, ideally at large consumer scale
• Hands-on experience designing AI-driven product behavior, such as conversational or generative interfaces, and familiarity with the problems they raise: trust, latency, streaming, ambiguity and graceful failure
• Habitual use of AI tools in your own design process, whether for research synthesis, ideation, prototyping or production, and a clear view of where they help and where they fall short
• Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and revising quickly as evidence arrives
• Ability to manage your own priorities and carry work through without close supervision
• Clear, direct communication with engineers, researchers and executives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• AI-powered product features you designed that are live at scale
• Experience with voice or multimodal interaction
• Ability to prototype in code, including with AI-assisted development tools
• Background in digital commerce, enterprise platforms or other large-scale consumer environments
• Deep fluency in Figma and modern prototyping tools
