Position Title: Sr Project Manager

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to
- Interact with Contractors to answer technical or Program related questions.
- Interact with installers to provide clarity on Program rules, answer technical questions.
- Customer Complaints – determine legitimacy of home or business owner complaints, log on compliant tracker and work with all necessary parties (Contractor, Customer, NYSERDA legal team/governmental affairs team, or DPS) to resolve issue.
- As assigned, respond to emails sent to inboxes such as: SolarQuestions@nyserda.ny.gov; Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Team Technical Resource.
- Assist other team members, potentially including Client LI staff, with technical and code, mostly on Residential PV + Storage projects.
- Code Official Training, online using Articulate.
- NY-Sun Solar Guidebook Updates.
- Assist NYSERDA's siting team, as needed.
- Stay abreast of changes to major industry changes, for instance the release of changes to the National Electric Code. Project Technical Design Reviews.
- NY-Sun project applications design review includes: - Briefly review submitted projects documents for accuracy: project application, wiring diagrams, shading, site plans, and site photos. These reviews typically take no more than a few minutes and are meant to catch high-level issues. - Correspond via email with Contractors when there is a missing or rejected item - Follow up on responses from Contractors.
- Residential Energy Storage design reviews - provides technical review of project designs, with expertise in reviewing for compliance with the Fire Code and NEC Code requirements.
- Provide Quality Assurance inspection checklist modification. Quality Assurance Corrective Action Response (CAR) Review Program Implementor for NY-Sun and Storage Programs Corrective Action Requirements (CAR) review (often requires time researching codes for the appropriate section).
- Review the issued (failed) inspection report to familiarize with cited issues.
- Review contractor response to determine if proof of corrective action is acceptable.
- If corrected, is the correction sufficient to resolve the issue approve (completed) or reject and resubmit (Corrective action required).
- Other duties as assigned that contribute to the key outcomes of the NY-Sun team.
To be considered for this position, you should have
- Excellent communication skills Experience in solar or electrical construction industry (having worked with or as a solar installer a plus).
- Working knowledge of NYS Uniform Codes.
- Ability to communicate clearly with solar installers, contractors, inspectors, and customers by phone and email.
- Works well in a team environment.
- 10+ years of experience in the solar or electrical construction industry as well as working knowledge of NYS Uniform Codes.
- Candidates should have appropriate public-private partnership demeanor for this role.

Education, Certifications, Degree requirements
- Preferred to have: NYS Professional Engineer License, NABCEP PV Installation Professional or UL PV System Installer or IBEW Journeyman with 40 hour PV training.
- Required to have: Bachelor's degree, Working knowledge of NYS Uniform Codes.
